GES10 Governor Gary R. Herbert Address

 <itunes:author>Governor's Utah Economic Summit 2010</itunes:author>

As your Governor, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the fourth annual Governor's Utah Economic Summit. The theme for this event is "SOLID GROWTH ... Today and Tomorrow," which reflects Utah's currently strong business climate and our careful preparations for future success.

The state's business community continues to be innovative and show great initiative, and our business-friendly efforts have allowed us to foster business growth throughout the state. While Utah has been minimally impacted by the national business slowdown, its business community continues to move forward in many parts of its broad economic base. Utah is fortunate to have experienced significantly less damage than our neighboring states, and we see some bright spots.

As Governor, economic development is one of my top priorities for the state of Utah. Together, we can build a strong economic base that will serve as a model for the rest of the nation. At the 2010 Summit, we will hear from nationally recognized experts in fields ranging from financing to entrepreneurship to strategic marketing. More than 40 experts will share their knowledge with attendees who will also have an opportunity to form valuable new business relationships.
